SOLO is calling on One Thousand Housing Providers to advocate for fairness and reform in the rental housing market.
By coming together, we will send a powerful message to our elected government officials for the need to create a more balanced and equitable rental housing market for both Housing Providers and Good Tenants.
We cannot allow delays in the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) process to serve as an excuse for the wrongdoing inflicted upon housing providers. Faster resolution for non-payment of rent would help clear the backlog and streamline the process for everyone involved.
The current situation is dire: theft, extortion, professional tenants, fraud, violence, disturbance, and property damage by bad tenants are rampant. Housing providers are struggling to survive and many are being forced out of the market. This not only affects Housing Providers but also Good Tenants who deserve safe and secure housing.
A unified front by Housing Providers is a powerful and necessary step to shed light on the detrimental impact of bad tenant behavior on our housing supply. Government protection and intervention are urgently needed to address these issues and to safeguard housing supply for everyone involved.
There will be two June protests: Weekend and Weekday.
We strongly urge everyone to participate in both protests. We understand that weekdays can be challenging for participation, and ask everyone to do their best to attend both. Your presence and support are invaluable in demonstrating our collective commitment to address the issues facing Housing Providers and Good Tenants. Together, we can make a powerful statement and demand the protection and intervention we urgently need.
