On Monday, November 15th, 2021, SOLO was invited by the Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Landlord Association de Propriétaires to provide information regarding the current negotiation with the Ontario government; as well as about the activities of the newly-formed, federally -registered, landlords’ association.
Boubah, the SOLO chair, was the guest speaker for the SD&G Landlord Association’s general meeting. He presented the history of SOLO and its goals, including how the 4,000-strong SOLO members are trying to solve the challenges faced by landlords throughout Ontario.
Boubah also explained the necessity for all small and large landlords to unite across the province and to speak with one voice to lobby the government for changes. Following the ‘question and answer segment’, Boubah was presented a $2,000 cheque by the SD&G Landlord Association to help fund the legal challenge SOLO is contemplating.
According to their website, SD&G is a non-profit organization founded in 1997 primarily for landlords and property managers who meet, share information and act in their common interest. Membership is open to everyone and is tax deductible. Their website is sdglandlord.ca
