Scarborough Area Landlord Villainized by Tenants and Unsupported by Local Authorities

0

A Scarborough landlord has been assaulted by their tenant and is suffering health problems. While trying to maintain their property, they are being treated as a villain by the Toronto Police.

In a property that can accommodate two tenants, this property has not been able to maintain a second tenant because of the family that occupies one half of the property.

The troublesome tenants have not cleaned the house properly since they moved in according to the landlord. In addition, there has been damage to the property causing flooding. The tenant caused the damage but refused to pay for the repairs according to the landlord.

When the landlord requires access to the property they must call the police to act as peacekeepers because the tenant is uncooperative. Public shaming occurs on the lawn of the property, the landlord is ridiculed in front of the neighborhood by the officers present.

According to the landlord, the police question their motives and behaviours while turning a blind eye to the tenant and their unethical behaviour. According to the landlord, the police force consistently takes the side of the tenants and maintain little interest in an investigation.

This landlord said that they are not going to rent again because the city of Toronto/Scarborough does not support landlords and there are no laws to supports landlords. The police department was contacted for an interview but has not responded at the time of this publication.
