Solo Landlords protest in Mississauga

Several hundred of small property rental owners braved the bad weather to express their indignation in what they see as a “war on small landlords”.

They main frustration is against the loss of control of their property during a lengthy process of adjudication without any recourse on a timely manner. “My Property! My Rights!” chanted the protesters each with a “horror story” of being forced to house non paying tenants for months while waiting for a backlogged hearing at the Landlords and Tenants Board (LTB)

This protest is the ongoing series of several “civil actions” to draw the public and the decision makers’ attention to treat small landlords as part of the solution rather as scapegoat from the government inability to address the housing crisis.

The landlords plan to continue the protests, the next one scheduled at Queen’s Park on Monday June 5th, 2023.
